Processes on Eindhoven Airport
In the operation of Eindhoven Airport we distinguish a number of main processes. The passenger process, the baggage process and the airline process. These processes describe how passengers, baggage and aircraft get from one destination to another as safely, efficiently and quickly as possible.
The passenger process
Depending on the month, week and day, Eindhoven Airport welcomes about 18,000 to 25,000 passengers per day (departing and incoming added up). Departing passengers move from the parking lot or the bus terminal/taxi stand to the terminal. The passenger delivers his checked baggage to the Self-service baggage drop-off. This baggage goes through the X-Ray and 3D CT-scanners. He then goes through the prescan (the passenger has already checked in online) and security check (Security Check). Here the passenger goes through a security scan. Hand luggage is checked with 3D CT scanners. The advantage of this is that liquids and electronics may remain in the bag. Depending on the destination, the passenger still goes through passport control. When traveling outside Schengen, the Royal Netherlands Military Constabulary checks the passenger's passport. After this, the passenger can board.
Arriving travelers go to the reclaim hall after landing at Eindhoven Airport. There they take their hold luggage off the belt. Customs officials perform random checks among arriving travelers. This involves checking which (and how many) goods are being imported. These include counterfeit money, drugs, protected species or counterfeit goods. The passenger then arrives in the arrival hall.
Self-service baggage drop-off
Of course, you prefer to travel as easily as possible. In the terminal, you can drop off your checked baggage at the Self-service baggage drop-off. You put your luggage on the belt and follow the instructions on the display. An easy and quick process so that you can go to Security Check without large suitcases or bags and/or first enjoy a snack or drink or visit one of the shops at the airport.
Quick and easy through Security Check
You have already delivered your checked baggage to the Self-service baggage drop-off in the terminal. Now you can go straight to security check. Here we use 3D CT scanners to scan your carry-on baggage. And the convenient thing is that liquids and electronics are allowed to stay in the bag. In addition to hand luggage, all passengers and staff going through Security Check are also checked.
