'Knowing the processes and setting priorities is the most important'

Name: Kendra Lie Position: Station Manager Skytanking Relaxation: Shopping and outings or weekend getaways with family or friends

Being the spider in the web, maintaining contacts with Ryanair, Eindhoven Airport, and Viggo, solving problems, and ensuring seamless communication between all parties. Kendra Lie (24) ensures that Ryanair's airport operations run smoothly as the station manager for Skytanking at Eindhoven Airport.

She transitioned from Viggo to Skytanking in April this year, quickly advancing from duty manager to supervisor to station manager. Ambition is not lacking. "I am interested in aviation, I am curious and learn quickly, and I really enjoy my work," she explains her rapid career progression. Her proactive mentality also helped. "I studied Aviation Services, but when I worked at the service desk for Viggo, I knew nothing about the platform." She started helping on the platform and in the baggage hall and quickly learned about the processes.

According to Kendra, the best part is her workplace. "That I work at an airport. I find it a tremendously beautiful environment." Her love for aviation is not entirely coincidental. Its origin lies in her childhood. "As a child, I used to go to air shows in Belgium with my grandfather and father, and we still do."

Kendra thrives in her busy job at the airport, where about a hundred Skytanking employees now work. A lot comes at her at once. Still, she handles the work well because she knows the airport processes and can set priorities. She enjoys working with a team. "It gives me a good feeling to achieve things together as a team and to see how the team develops." But according to Kendra, there are always things that can be improved. Reducing the workload and making processes more efficient are high on her list. "I expect that Deep Turnaround (registering and analyzing handling processes) will help with this."

In her free time, the station manager likes to go out with her sisters or friends. She also clears her mind during a fun day of shopping. What does the future hold? "I definitely want to continue working in aviation." Becoming a station manager of multiple airports or giving training at airports could be the next step. "But I'm in no hurry. I'm fine here for now."
