Using a huge pile driver, foundation piles of the expansion terminal were drilled into the ground in December and January. This was done after the installation of sheet pile walls needed to dig the baggage basement. A total of about 368 foundation piles will go into the ground in this stretch of land. The foundation piles have different lengths; the longest is about nineteen meters long. At a later stage, foundation piles will also be drilled for the purpose of building the entrance hall.
