Eindhoven Airport celebrated the first milestone for project 'expansion terminal Eindhoven Airport' together with M. Heezen at the end of June 2024. Airport director Roel Hellemons removed the first roof plates of the car rental building with the demolition crane with grabber. He was instructed by experienced operator Mark Groenen from M. Heezen. The low-rise building will make way for the expansion of the terminal; the car rental is now located in the terminal. "Really starting this big project gives new energy," said Roel Hellemons. This important expansion project marks the next step in the development of the airport. The demolition work will be carried out in a sustainably responsible manner, including separating materials for reuse or high-quality recycling and reusing the released debris at the airport. The forecourt will be prepared for construction in July. The construction work for the expansion will start in November. The total 'Eindhoven Airport terminal expansion' project will be completed by mid-2027.
