Willem van der Leegte appointed member of the Supervisory Board of Eindhoven Airport

Willem van der Leegte, President and CEO of VDL Group, has been appointed as a member of the Supervisory Board of Eindhoven Airport as of 28 March 2026. He was nominated by the municipality of Eindhoven, one of the airport’s shareholders.

Deeply rooted in the region, Van der Leegte points to the key responsibilities of the airport. “Eindhoven Airport is an important gateway to our Brainport region, which is becoming increasingly international. The airport also plays a role in important societal issues in this region. In my role as a supervisor, I would like to make a meaningful contribution to the development of our regional airport, while ensuring a healthy balance with the interests of the surrounding community,” says Van der Leegte.

Van der Leegte succeeds drs. Carlo van Kemenade, who is stepping down from the Supervisory Board after eight years of service. Van der Leegte has been appointed for an initial term of four years.
